It’ s time to learn a little more about the people here at Thill Logistics. The idea is based on the website Formspring and the classic Bernard Pivot questionnaire, just imagine that I am holding my blue index cards and asking the questions in a soothing James Liptonesque tone. The format is simple, five questions. The first 4 will stay constant, (3 work related questions and 1 from Pivot) but the 5thquestion… that is up to you! Please comment and send in questions here on the Thill Blog, or send them to me via Formspring to carrieatthill.
Here are my 5 questions for Tom Wollangk:
What is your role at Thill Logistics? Vice President of Operations, I am in charge of operations company wide.
How did you get into your field? My background is in sheet metal manufacturing operations and sales. I have been responsible for starting up and turning around manufacturing facilities. Having been involved with the owners in the past and was recruited to take over the startup of their Mill’s Fleet Farm facility. With the success of the startup I was asked to handle the additional responsibility of all operations.
What is your favorite thing about your field? I enjoy the high activity level and diverse products that we deal with.
(Bernard Pivot) What is your favorite word? Yes.
(Formspring) If you could just pack up and leave to go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? I prefer warm climates. I was able to live in Arizona for a few years and loved it. I’d go back at the drop of a hat. Florida has also been a favorite.
