Customer “Twervice”
14
2011I spent this past weekend visiting friends in Milwaukee. Instead of our normal haunts & plans this time we mixed it up by trying something new. What was the one thing all the new places had in common (and why are they appearing on the Thill Blog?) Everything I did over the weekend was because of social media.
I have made personal connections via Twitter (follow me @carrieatthill & Thill Logisitcs, Inc. at @ThillLogisitcs) to many people, businesses & events. Just the simple act of “Tweeting” with @AJBombers every day has had me craving a #BarrieBurger for months! When I heard about the event @IronCupcakeMKE, I knew I had a Milwaukee weekend in the making!
Yes, while I did time it when I had other events in the same weekend, I still drove over an hour just to try a hamburger at a restaurant I have never been to. I convinced 5 of my friends that the estimated two hour wait for a table would be worth the wait because I had a personal connection with the restaurant. (On a side note it was even better because the wait was only about 45 minutes!) I was also greeted by @HouseofBrew & @Msorge, both in person and via Twitter, shortly after checking into AJ Bombers on Foursquare. To me, this shows the power that making personal connections with people via social media. I only hope that I have been able to create that same people with the fans, friends and followers of Thill Logistics!
How does your business connect with its customers? B2B and B2C alike, a RT or @reply on Twitter or a Like & a comment response on Facebook can give you a relationship with current and future clients. Today is Valentine’s Day – show them a little online love – who knows what will come from it!
